Introduction

In today’s corporate environment, motivation can no longer rely on one-way speeches and conventional formats. AstraZeneca sought to energise, inspire, and truly engage its teams through a fresh, technology-driven approach. The result was Azengers—a first-of-its-kind motivational experience that blended storytelling, gamification, and inspiration into a single, high-impact interactive game show. This initiative marked a new chapter in interactive game shows for corporate events, demonstrating how engagement and learning can coexist seamlessly.

The Challenge

AstraZeneca had previously hosted multiple motivational talks, but the impact and long-term retention were limited. Traditional speaker-led formats often resulted in passive listening, with little emotional or cognitive recall post-event. The client wanted something disruptive—an experience that would actively involve employees, reinforce organisational values, and leave a lasting impression. The brief was clear: Create motivation that people experience, not just hear.

The Solution

Starr Play International designed a customised corporate game show solution in India, inspired by the globally loved Avengers movie franchise—hence the name Azengers. Every element of the live game show was crafted around AstraZeneca’s core values such as collaboration, innovation, courage, and continuous improvement.

Carefully curated video clips from the Avengers films were used to set context, spark emotion, and introduce each theme. Questions followed each clip, prompting participants to reflect, respond, and engage live using an advanced scoring and participation system. After every question, Rahul Kapoor delivered a powerful motivational debrief—connecting the cinematic moment directly to real workplace behaviour and mindset.

This seamless blend of event gamification, audio-visual storytelling, and live facilitation transformed the program into a gripping experience.

The Result & Impact

The impact was immediate and lasting. Over 950 employees participated actively, creating an atmosphere of excitement, collaboration, and shared purpose. Unlike traditional motivational sessions, the use of video, audio, and interactive technology significantly improved message retention and emotional engagement.
